Portraits can provide intimate insight into the vulnerability of a subject. What life has this person lived? What are their dreams, their fears, their insecurities? While spending hours meticulously focusing on the details that make a person unique, these are the questions Mullins finds himself asking. He is constantly aware that one brushstroke can make the difference between accurately representing the person or missing the mark completely.
